Vitamin E for carefully developed formulas

Choose an ingredient quantity that fits your next project, from a small trial to a larger batch. Arabiva synthetic Vitamin E is DL-alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, listed under the cosmetic INCI name Tocopheryl Acetate. It is a clear, viscous oily liquid with a faint pale-yellow tint, intended for skin and hair care formulation projects.

Clearly identified material

The supplied Certificate of Analysis identifies tocopheryl acetate, batch 20161251010, with a 98.1% assay result under its Ph. Eur. entry. This is a batch-specific result, not a claim about the concentration in a finished cosmetic. This is synthetic Vitamin E acetate, not natural Vitamin E or a mixed-tocopherol blend.

Where it fits in your formulation

This ingredient type is used in projects such as creams, lotions, balms and oil-based care formulas when incorporated into a suitable recipe. It is soluble in oils and fats and insoluble in water; water-based systems require appropriate emulsification. Set addition levels and processing steps from the material specification, formula design, and stability and compatibility testing.

Acetate is different from free tocopherol

Tocopheryl Acetate and free Tocopherol are different forms. Do not substitute one for the other in a recipe intended to protect oils from rancidity simply because both are called Vitamin E. Check the form and function required by your formula. This ingredient is not a microbial preservative and does not replace a suitable preservation system or its testing.

Frequently asked questions

Is it a fragrance oil?

No. It is a cosmetic formulation ingredient, not a fragrance accord, diffuser oil or ready-to-use perfume.

Can it be mixed directly into water?

It does not dissolve in water. Incorporate it into the appropriate phase of your formula and use a suitable emulsification system where required.

Can I formulate with shea or cocoa butter?

It can be considered for compatible butter-based formulas according to the recipe. Explore refined shea butter and refined cocoa butter and test a small batch before scaling.

Is it a dietary supplement or treatment?

This listing is for cosmetic formulation material, not an oral supplement, ready-made treatment or sunscreen. An ingredient certificate alone does not establish the suitability of every finished product or use.

How should I store it?

Keep tightly closed and protected from moisture, light and direct heat. Use clean, dry utensils and follow the batch and storage label on the supplied container. Certificate data refers to the identified batch; consult your delivered container's label.
